To add an item to your Store that your residents can purchase, navigate to the Manage Items section from the Store screen.
Click the Create Item button to add an item. You will be able to fill-in information about the item on the side panel.
Inventory is an optional field you can use to track stock for an item. You can enter how many of the item you have, and as residents place orders, the inventory will decrease. Residents will only be able to order items if there is enough inventory remaining. You can always come back to edit an item and update the inventory amount if you receive more stock.
You can add images, and if required, a unique policy or disclaimer specific to the item.
You can also add one or more required fields that a resident must complete during the order process in the resident app. This is useful if you need to collect specific information from the resident in order to fulfill the order (e.g., a model number).
You must enter the price of the item (including any tax you need to charge). You can also enter an accounting ID here, or select a charge code if your building uses Yardi. This can help track revenue generated for specific items. For buildings using Yardi, selecting a charge code will automatically place a charge and associated payment on the resident's ledger, so you don’t have to track it manually when a purchase is made. You can also choose to allow residents to pay outside of the 1VALET app when purchasing through the resident app. If you choose this option, you will need to manage the collection of funds on your own.
If your building has been configured by 1VALET as a multi-building community (usually a set of physically co-located buildings), you will also see an option select which buildings you would like this item to be available to. Residents from any of the selected buildings will be able to view and purchase the item once published.
Once you’ve completed all the necessary item details, click Publish Now to display the item to residents in the Store on their resident app. If you need to make further adjustments before going live, click Publish Later to save a draft and return to it later.
