What is Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) and Why Use It?
Two-factor authentication (2FA) adds an extra layer of security to your account by requiring two forms of verification. Unlike traditional login methods, 2FA ensures that even if one factor (like a password) is compromised, your account remains protected.
How 2FA Works
When logging in, you’ll need to verify your identity using two steps:
Your Authentication Method: This is your username and password
A Second Verification Step: A unique code is either sent to your email or accessed via an authentication app.
Third party login
You may be required by your company to log in using third party authentication method (e.g., Google or Microsoft). For third-party login, your credentials are verified directly by the external platform, so there’s no need to remember additional passwords. In this case the two factor authentication is also handled by the third party.
