What does this feature do?

You can send announcements directly from an event to communicate with residents.

These announcements:

  • Include key event details automatically

  • Contain a direct link to the event in the resident app

  • Help residents quickly view or book the event

This makes it easier to promote events and increase participation.

Where do I send an announcement from?

You can send an announcement from the event details side panel.

From there, you can:

  • View past announcements related to the event

  • Create a new announcement

Sending an announcement

To send an announcement:

  1. Open the event

  2. Go to the event details side panel

  3. Select Send Announcement

Choosing your audience

When sending an announcement, you can control who receives it.

Depending on the event, you may see:

  • Everyone invited (default)

  • Only attendees

This allows you to:

  • Promote the event to all eligible residents

  • Or communicate only with those who have already responded or booked

What is pre-filled for you

When creating an announcement from an event, key details are automatically filled in:

  • From: Your name

  • Subject: Event name

  • Audience filters: Based on who can see the event

    • Resident status

    • Resident type (if applicable)

    • Tags

    • Buildings (for multi-building communities)

The message will also include:

  • Event name

  • Date and time

  • Location (if provided)

  • Event description

If the event requires booking:

  • A prompt encouraging residents to reserve a spot is included

How residents receive the announcement

In the 1VALET app

  • Residents receive the message

  • They can tap to view the event directly

By email

  • Residents receive the message content

  • A link is included to open the announcement in the app

  • From there, they can access the event

How the event link works

Each announcement is linked to the event.

When residents open the announcement:

  • They can go directly to the event

  • They can book or respond (depending on event type)

This reduces friction and makes it easier for residents to take action.

Viewing past announcements

From the event details side panel, you can:

  • See a list of announcements sent for that event

  • Track communication history

In the main Announcements view:

  • Event-related announcements are labeled with an Event category

  • You can open an announcement and navigate back to the associated event

Important notes

  • Announcements sent from events are automatically linked to that event

  • Audience filters are based on who is eligible to see the event

  • For recurring events:

    • Announcements may apply to a single occurrence or the entire series

  • To communicate with a specific resident on their event booking see this article

Best practices

  • Send an announcement when the event is first published

  • Send reminders closer to the event date

  • Use “Only attendees” to share updates or changes

  • Keep messages short and action-oriented
