Setting a cancellation deadline

If you have setup an amenity to require payment from the resident in order to book it, you can also set a cancellation deadline on the amenity, which will allow you to still collect the amenity booking fees you have set if they cancel too close to their booking start date.

When creating or editing an existing amenity, look for the toggle called "Set Cancellation Deadline" under the "Amenity usage fees" section.

You can only set a cancellation deadline on the amenity if you have set a booking fee amount on it.

When a resident cancels the booking from the 1VALET App

If the resident cancels their booking from the 1VALET App within the number of calendar days set before the day of their booking, they will not receive a refund for any of the booking fees you have set.

For example, If a cancellation deadline is set to "1 day before the event", and a resident had booked a Guest Suite for July 10 checking in at 3 p.m., they have until 11:59 p.m. on July 8th to cancel and receive a full refund. If they cancel any time on July 9th (any time within one full calendar day before the day of the booking) they will not receive any refund when cancelling from the 1VALET App.

If the resident cancels their booking further out than the number of days set, they will automatically receive a full refund.

When a manager cancels the booking from the 1CONNECT Portal

As a manager in the 1CONNECT Portal, if you cancel the booking on behalf of the resident further out than the number of days set, the resident will receive a full refund automatically.

As a manager in the 1CONNECT Portal, if you cancel the booking on behalf of the resident within the number of days set you will have the option (via a toggle) to refund the resident (provided your user has the proper refund permissions). This option provides you with the flexibility to allow refunds in extenuating circumstances.

Residents are made aware of cancellation deadlines that you have defined on the amenity when they book the amenity from the 1VALET App (shown below)
