How to set up and use 1VALET's virtual Guest Parking flow

There are four key steps involved in setting up and using Guest Parking through

1VALET:

  1. Creating the Guest Parking amenity in 1CONNECT (management)

  2. Booking a Guest Parking spot for a visitor from the 1VALET app (resident)

  3. Parking and logging the visit at the 1VALET entry system (visitor)

  4. Vehicle review and parking enforcement (management/security)

1. Creating the Guest Parking Amenity

Guest Parking can be set up as an amenity by Management directly in the 1CONNECT Property Management Portal. To do this, navigate to the 1CONNECT Amenities tab > Manage Amenities > Create Amenity. You can find video instruction on Amenity set-up at the link here. Customize Guest Parking details as required for your building.

2. Booking a Guest Parking Spot for a Visitor

Once the Guest Parking amenity has been created, residents would be able to reserve a parking spot in the 1VALET app for their guest, specifying date and time. You can also require residents to include a number of vehicle information fields in their booking. You can find video instruction for how residents can create a booking from the 1VALET resident app at the link here.

3. Parking and Logging the Visit

Once a booking has been made to reserve a guest’s parking spot, guests can

proceed to park their vehicle in their designated location. If your building has full

SALTO access control as part of your 1VALET package, residents can use the Guest

Access feature to issue temporary in/out access to the entry doors required for their

visitor. This would allow the visitor to download the 1VALET resident app on a Guest

basis, remotely unlock the parking door (if applicable) and proceed to parking their

vehicle.

Guests must check in at a 1VALET console using the "Guest Parking" tab on the screen. This will prompt the visitor to enter which unit they are visiting, along with their license plate vehicle details. They will also have a shortcut on the entry system to call the resident to get access into the building.

4. Review and Enforcement

Guest Parking entries can be viewed and managed multiple ways - either by using the Guest Parking widget in the 1CONNECT web portal’s Dashboard tab, or by using the 1CONNECT mobile app.

1CONNECT web portal’s Dashboard tab

Open the Dashboard tab of the 1CONNECT web portal. Select the tile icon to the right, and then the + icon to create a new Dashboard. You can find video instruction for setting up a 1CONNECT Dashboard at the link here.

To add a Guest Parking widget to your Dashboard, select Add Widget and find Guest Parking. Visitor entries submitted on the entry system.

1CONNECT mobile app Guest Parking module

The 1CONNECT mobile app for building staff can be downloaded & used with the same credentials as the 1CONNECT portal - likely most convenient if you will have parking attendants physically monitoring the lot.

In the app version of 1CONNECT there is a module along the left side menu called Guest Parking, which allows you to see visitor vehicle check-ins, and which have been validated by a corresponding resident booking ahead of time. See the example to the right, illustrating that visitor vehicle with license plate starting AAA has been validated by an existing resident amenity booking while the vehicle with license plate beginning BBB does not match an existing booking:
