How do I add a new user account for staff in my organization?

Only staff account admins, or users with "full access" permissions can add user accounts. These users will see a "Staff Accounts" section in the left-side menu in 1CONNECT.

From the Staff Accounts section, you can add a new user account for a staff member by clicking the "Add New Staff" button on the top right of the screen.

From the Add New Staff section, you will enter the email address of the staff member you'd like to provide access for in 1CONNECT.

Please ensure their email account exists prior to creating their user account. Failure to do so will result in their email being added to a blocked list and they will not be able to receive their activation email to start using 1CONNECT

Next, you will select the buildings that this staff member should have access too and what permission group to assign for each building. Often staff have the same permissions at each building, so we have provided a action button which will allow you to copy the permission group you have selected to all other buildings you have selected. You can also quickly select all buildings via the "Select all buildings" button.

After selecting buildings and assigning a permission group to each, you'll be able to onboard the account, which will send an account activation email to the email you provided for account. From there, the staff member will access the email and complete the onboarding and be able to access 1CONNNECT.

Account activation emails are only valid for 24 hours from the time you created the account

If the link for activation has expired after the 24 hour period, the staff member will be informed when they try to click the link that it is expired, and can request a new link themselves by inputting their email again.

Alternatively, you can resend the activation link from the staff member's account profile in the side panel from the Staff Account tab.
