1VALET will inform you that a new version of the app is available through a dialogue box. You can choose whether to update from there or if you would like to do it later.
If you decide to do it later, you can access the download link by tapping on the “More” icon from the bottom navigation of the Home screen [show app home screen and “more” screen]
Once you have accessed the “More” menu, scroll down to the very bottom of the screen. Underneath the policy links, you’ll see a version number. If there is also a small blue arrow icon, that means there is a new version of the app. Tap on it to go to the app store and update the app from there.

Please note that while the app is updating, you will not receive call notifications or be able to use the app to unlock doors or any other functions. The app download should take a couple of minutes.
If you find it is taking a long time, check your Wifi connection and whether or not this is preventing you from downloading an app, and whether it’s configured for downloads over a Wifi connection only. To check this, follow the instructions below:
iOS
Open your device's Settings menu and scroll down to "App Store." Tap on it.
The top part of the next screen will show you what the App Store can access. Check to see if "Cellular Data" is turned on. If it's turned off, as in the example below, you will need to wait until you are on a Wi-fi network before you can update the 1VALET App.
Android
Navigate to Google Play and tap on your profile icon on the top right.
From there, scroll down and tap on "Settings." This is the settings for managing apps, not your phone settings.
Then, tap on "Network Preferences" to expand it.
From the expanded list, tap on "App download preference."
On the next screen, you'll be able to see whether you need a Wi-fi connection to download the 1VALET app. Please note that if you choose "Over any network," you may incur data charges, depending on what your mobile plan is.
If you are not on a Wi-fi network and you have that download option selected, you will have to wait until you are on a Wi-fi (preferably a secure one), to download the 1VALET App.
Always make sure you have enough battery when downloading any app so that your phone does not shut down in the process.
