The 1VALET Parcel Room provides buildings with a simple package room solution to help solve package delivery management for their residents.
1. Courier Entry Into The Building
Couriers are able to get secure entry into the building and the Parcel Room using the 1VALET entry systems. For any national couriers that have opted in to sharing their package data with third parties like 1VALET, they are able to scan one of the packages they are delivering using the Deliveries tile of the 1VALET entry systems to get access.
They only need to scan one package for entry. When scanning, the entry system will verify the courier they are with and confirm that the package being scanned is in transit to its final destination to confirm that its a package destined for the building.
Note: Certain couriers do not opt in to this package data sharing option. For food delivery drivers or any couriers that are not listed in the list of brands shown after tapping Deliveries on the screen, they are able to get access either by calling one of the residents they are delivering to, or by calling building staff using the intercom button on the screen. Amazon also has an alternate method of secure courier entry through their Amazon Key device. Please reach out to your Onboarding Lead for more information.
2. Courier Deposit At Parcel Room
At the Parcel Room, the courier is again presented with the Deliveries tile. The system will recognize that a delivery driver had just scanned at the entry door and will proceed to the Suite Logging screen as shown below. Note if the driver did not use the Deliveries tile to enter at the main door, they will be prompted with the same options at the Parcel Room screen to verify their identity.
At the Suite Logging screen, the courier is asked to enter ALL of the suites they are delivering packages for. This step is needed to allow residents to receive their delivery notifications. The system will require the driver to complete this step before the Parcel Room door opens to ensure residents are being notified of any deliveries deposited in the room.
If a courier is having issues scanning, they can select the Management option from the Parcel Room entry screen. This will initiate a call to the building staff team according to the Intercom Settings the building has set within 1CONNECT.
The site team can also create an entry code to unlock the door or simulate the
courier dropoff flow. By hitting Staff Entry on the Parcel Room screen, they can enter an existing entry code. Again the option for "Parcel Deposit" is present, which allows
management to input recipient unit if ever necessary.
3. Resident Package Retrieval
Once the delivery driver enters a resident's unit, the resident would get a delivery notification to their 1VALET app (or email alert if they have not activated their 1VALET app) with details on pickup.
To proceed with pickup, residents can use the Resident Entry tile on the Parcel Room system. The resident can then enter their one-time numeric code or QR code to unlock the door and retrieve their package.
If a resident did not receive their delivery notification through 1VALET, it's likely their delivery driver may not have included their unit in their entries. Click here for more details on how residents can retrieve packages if this arises.
4. Access Logs Audit
All entries to the Parcel Room door will show in 1CONNECT Access Logs,
complete with a photo of the individual who was in front of the screen when it was
opened. Courier entries on any entry system door will also appear in your Logs. You can filter by door or by entry type as needed to pull these Logs.
